Gov. Peter Shumlin is going to be telling Vermont lawmakers about how he plans to eliminate a deficit in the next fiscal year that is projected to be more than $93 million.

Due to state revenues coming in lower than expected, Shumlin is also overseeing cuts of about $17 million to this year's state spending.

He is due to give his budget address to the Legislature on Thursday.

Shumlin indicated in his inaugural address last week that one priority will be cleaning up Lake Champlain.

But he hasn't outlined public yet his strategy for closing the budget gaps.
