An inmate who was in prison with the woman charged with killing St. Johnsbury teacher Melissa Jenkins, said the woman told her that her husband didn't kill the teacher.
The testimony came Monday during the first degree murder trial of Allen Prue.
The Burlington Free Press reports that defense witness Amy Beede, who was incarcerated last year along with Patricia Prue at the Chittenden Regional Correctional Facility in South Burlington, said Patricia Prue told her that Allen Prue didn't kill Jenkins.
Thirty-two-year-old Allen Prue is charged with killing Jenkins in March 2012 after luring her from her home. Patricia Prue is also charged in the case. She is being tried separately.
Allen Prue's attorney is basing the defense on saying Allen Prue didn't kill Jenkins.
