Police have found the body of a man in Vermont's Winooski River Wednesday night. A passerby spotted the body floating near the Hydro electric plant and reported to the Burlington Electic department and police.
The man has not been identified. The medical examiner's office has received the body.
Winooski police say they have reached out to the Vermont State Police and will likely be working with them once they have more information.
According to the Burlington Free Press, Burlington Electric spokesman Mike Kanarick said that the utility company had employees on site who stand ready to help the Colchester Rescue Squad, who was on the scene.
