A jury has been selected for the trial of a man charged along with his wife of luring a St. Johnsbury, Vermont, teacher from her home and killing her in 2012.

Opening statements are scheduled in Allen Prue's trial on Wednesday in Chittenden Superior Court in Burlington.

Prue faces kidnapping and first-degree murder charges in the death of 33-year-old Melissa Jenkins in a crime that shook the northeastern community where the victim lived and taught. Police allege Prue and his wife, Patricia, lured Jenkins from her home with a ruse about a broken down car and then killed her. Patricia Prue will be tried separately.

Out of a pool of about 80 people, 16 jurors - nine men and seven women - were picked Monday. Four will act as alternates.
