Man Dies in Rollover Accident

Peter Smithers, 64, was driving a truck with a pull-behind camper when at some point the camper began to fishtail

A Randolph, Vermont, man was killed in a single-vehicle crash Monday afternoon.

Police said evidence at the scene and witness reports indicate Peter Smithers, 64, was driving a truck with a pull-behind camper when at some point the camper began to fishtail, causing him to lose control of the vehicle.

Smithers' truck rolled over an unknown number of times before coming to a stop.

Smithers was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators said he was not wearing a seat belt.

Alcohol and speed do not appear to be factors in the accident.
