A dog which was reported missing last month in Pownal, Vermont, was found dead with a gunshot wound to its head, according to Vermont State Police.
Officials responded to 79 Burdick Trailer Park July 1 after a neighbor found the remains of the dog along train tracks. The owner was notified.
The dog, "Cassie," was a 2-year-old Corgi/Shepard mix.
Police say there are few leads at the time.
