It will be located on Route 30 in Townshend

The Vermont Public Service Board has approved the construction of a new cellular tower on Route 30 near Townshend.

The tower, designed to look like a pine tree, will be 120 feet tall.

The Brattleboro Reformer reports the board issued a certificate of public good to New Cingular Wireless PCS doing business as AT&T Mobility

AT&T has focused on expanding traditional cellular service in areas that have little or no reception.

New towers have been approved in Marlboro, Putney, Dover and Newfane.
