Police in Vermont say a New York man has been charged with drunk driving for the seventh time after he was found asleep at the wheel.
The Bennington Banner reports that 52-year-old Christopher Marciano of West Hempstead pleaded not guilty Monday to a felony count of driving under the influence. Police say he has four drunk driving convictions in Vermont and two in New York.
State Trooper Wayne Godfrey says he responded to a call at 1:15 a.m. on Aug. 15 and found Marciano's vehicle pulled over, the engine running and headlights on. Godfrey says pounded on the window to wake Marciano. Police say a breath test showed his blood-alcohol concentration to be .136 percent.
It could not immediately be learned if Marciano had a lawyer. A number listed in his name was out of service.
