PD: Teen Charged With Possessing Pipe Bomb

Burlington police say 18-year-old Henry Goldman of Jericho is still hospitalized after the June 8 explosion

Police say a Vermont teen who was seriously injured when a pipe bomb he'd made exploded while he was holding in in a car is charged with possession of a destructive device and reckless endangerment.

Burlington police say 18-year-old Henry Goldman of Jericho is still hospitalized after the June 8 explosion and has not been taken into custody. He is due to appear in Chittenden Superior Court on June 23.

Authorities say a search of his home turned up another device. They say he was holding the device in the passenger seat of a car driven by another 18-year-old when it exploded. The other teen was not injured.

Police say Goldman had planned to detonate the pipe bomb in Lake Champlain.

It was not immediately known if Goldman has a lawyer.
