Police Search for Men Who Burned Trailer, Stole Antlers

The total cost of replacing the trailer and hunting blind is estimated around $2,800, according to a statement from the Vermont State Police.

Police are asking for the public’s help to find two men who burned a trailer and mobile hunting blind on a trail in Highgate, Vermont, last weekend.

Authorities said the two men also made off with 10 sets of deer antlers that were mounted inside of the cabin.

The victims told police they saw the men fleeing the scene of the damage on snowmobiles Sunday morning. One of the suspects was seen carrying a gasoline can.

The total cost of replacing the trailer and hunting blind is estimated around $2,800, according to a statement from the Vermont State Police.

“Although it is difficult to place a monetary value on deer antlers, the two men were devastated at the loss of the sentimental value they held,” the statement reads.

Police said it's still not clear whether the men intended to burn the equipment.
