A Vermont man is facing multiple charges after police say they found nearly 500 bags of heroin and two guns in his home.
Bennington police tell affiliate MyNBC5 they responded to a house on South Branch Street just after midnight on Monday for a report of a possible domestic disturbance.
When officers arrived at the scene, John D. Petteys Jr. allegedly gave them a false name and a hunting knife.
Police say they eventually searched the home, where they found 490 bags of heroin and two handguns.
As part of his conditions for release on a previous crime, Petteys was forbidden to having a deadly weapon.
Petteys and his girlfriend, Alyssa Labeau, were arrested for heroin possession, among other charges.
It's unclear if they have attorneys.
