Police Still Searching for Vermont Man Wanted in Death of Girlfriend

Police in Vermont are still searching for a man suspected in the death of a 33-year-old South Burlington woman.

Police are still looking for Leroy Headley, who is wanted on a second-degree murder charge in the death of his partner, Anako "Annette" Lumumba on May 3. The Burlington Free Press reports South Burlington Police Detective Chris Bataille is the only officer at his department still working on the case full time.

Headley's car was found on May 18 in Albany, New York. The 36-year-old had previously called his lawyer four days earlier and said he would turn himself in to authorities. Police have found no activity from him since then. Bataille said he appears to be staying away from using electronics and his bank account.
