Police: Teen Arrested for Driving 100 MPH

A man was caught barreling through Waterbury at approximately 100 mph early Sunday morning, according to Vermont State Police.

Officials say around 12:30 a.m. 18-year-old Travis Streeter of Warren, Vermont, was driving at approximately 100 mph in a 25 mph zone at Park Row and South Main Street.

State Police say Streeter failed to stop and tried to elude troopers. Streeter crashed his truck and fled by foot before being captured.

Streeter was taken into custody at Chittenden Regional Correctional Facility. There was not a preliminary breath test.

The man faces multiple charges, including Driving Under the Influence, Leaving the Scene of Accident, Attempting to Elude and Excessive Speed and Negligent Operation.
