Residents of 9 Units in Winooski Home Displaced By Fire

No injuries were reported

Residents occupying nine units of a multi-family home in Winooski were displaced after a fire broke out over the weekend at the apartment building.

Police Lt. Scott McGivern said Sunday that he's unsure how many people were displaced by Saturday's blaze. Officials say three families are receiving assistance from the New Hampshire and Vermont Region of the American Red Cross.

Firefighters were called to the scene on Main Street just before 11 p.m. to battle the structure fire. Colchester fire and police assisted the Winooski Fire Department along with firefighters from Saint Michael's College.

Police declined to say the estimated damage to the home. No injuries were reported.

McGivern said the fire is under investigation and he hopes to release further information on Monday.
