NY School District Closed Due to Search for Escaped Murderers

Necn affiliate WPTZ reports that the school administration said students and teachers do not have to go to school

Schools in Saranac, New York, are closed Thursday because of an ongoing search for two convicted murderers who escaped from prison in New York.

Necn affiliate WPTZ reports that the school administration said students and teachers do not have to go to school.

Convicted murderers David Sweat and Richard Matt  escaped from the Clinton Correctional Facility in New York Saturday, prompting a manhunt spanning multiple states.

The two men cut through a steel wall, broke through bricks and crawled through a steam pipe before emerging through a manhole outside the prison.

Vermont Gov. Peter Shumlin and other officials say there is information the escapees may have fled to Vermont.
