Authorities in northwestern Vermont are investigating the violent deaths of two people.
St. Albans police say a man and a woman were found dead in an apartment Sunday evening during a wellness check, with what was described as "obvious signs of violence and trauma."
The St. Albans police chief did not publicly identify the people or say how they died, but said they were known to the department.
Investigators are expected to be on scene for much of Monday afternoon, and said it appears what happened was contained to the apartment, so there's no know threat to the general public.
