Vt. Man Charged With 39 Counts of Burglaries That Allegedly Spanned From May 2015 to April 2017

A Vermont man accused of committing 39 burglaries in the span of two years was arrested Tuesday, according to state police.

Travis Despain, 27, allegedly burglarized several businesses, churches, schools, a post office and residences in the greater Londonderry area between May 2015 and April 2017, Vermont State Police said.

Despain is accused of stealing $35,000 worth of merchandise and personal belongings and causing an estimated $5,300 in property damages.

The suspect was charged with 39 counts of burglary, 34 counts of unlawful mischief and 26 counts of larceny. State police say Despain could face additional charges.

He will be arraigned at Windham County Criminal Court, but it's unclear if he has an attorney or when the arraignment will take place.

Officials are asking anyone with information on the alleged burglaries to speak with Sgt. Ryan Wood of the Westminster Barracks at 802-722-4600.
