Vermont Governor Planning to Sign Marijuana Bill by Midnight

Vermont Republican Gov. Phil Scott is expected to sign the state's marijuana legalization bill by the end of the day.

Scott spokeswoman Rebecca Kelly says the governor has until 11:59 p.m. Monday to sign the bill.

Scott said last week that he intends to sign the pot bill before Monday.

Scott said previously that he's declining to hold a bill signing ceremony because "some people don't feel that this is a momentous occasion." He also said "the main thing is I will sign it."

The governor has also said a lawyer was reviewing the bill. Scott vetoed an earlier version of it. He felt his concerns were then addressed.

The revised bill passed both the House and Senate earlier this month.
