Vermont Students Cited for Luring Man to Campus With Drugs, Planned Assault

Four Vermont students have been cited for allegedly luring a man onto their campus with the promise of drugs in order to beat him up last month.

Colchester Police said the students -- 20-year-olds Megan Benson and Tyler Malone, and 21-year-olds Daniel Barry and Zachary Szczechowicz -- contacted 21-year-old Amrou Mohamed to sell him marijuana, according to NBC5.

The students tried to assault Mohamed when he arrived on campus, but he escaped after pulling out a gun.

Police have cited the students with false information to law enforcement authorities, first-degree unlawful restraint and simple assault. The students are scheduled to appear in court Nov. 3.
