Vt. Airport Gets $2.6M for Improvements

The Burlington International Airport in Vermont is getting $2.6 million in federal grants for runway improvements.

Vermont's congressional delegation says the funding from the U.S. Department of Transportation will go toward the expansion of two taxiways in the last phase of an infrastructure improvement project at the airport.

Vermont Sens. Patrick Leahy and Bernie Sanders and Rep. Peter Welch said Thursday that the airport is a critical part of the Vermont economy and facilitates economic development for the entire region.
