Wet Roads May Have Caused Fatal Crash

One person died and three others were injured in a head-on collision in Colchester, Vermont.


Vermont State Police say wet roads may have been a factor in a crash that killed a Canadian man in Colchester.

Around 10 p.m. Friday night, troopers responded to a two vehicle, head-on collision on Interstate 89 northbound, just south of exit 16. Initial investigation revealed the first vehicle was traveling southbound when it exited the roadway, crossed the center median, and struck a second vehicle in the northbound lanes.

Dominique Roy of St. Laurent, Quebec, lone occupant of the first car was transported to University of Vermont Medical Center where he died of his injuries. His identification is being withheld at this time.

Two of the occupants of the second vehicle sustained bruising and another suffered a broken arm. They are receiving medical treatment.
