Fire Rips Though Cardboard Bales at Building in Wilmington, Massachusetts

One firefighter suffered minor injuries battling the blaze

Firefighters battled a 2-alarm blaze at a commercial building in Wilmington, Massachusetts early Monday that caused smoky conditions in the area. 

Wilmington fire officials responded to the building at 235 Andover Street just before 12:50 a.m. and found large amounts of bailed cardboard on fire. 

Police said the fire caused smoky conditions in the surrounding area.

One firefighter suffered minor injuries battling the blaze. 

Firefighters from Andover, Tewksbury, Burlington, North Reading and Billerica arrived to fight the fire, which they knocked down by 3:30 a.m. The scene was cleared by around 6:30 a.m.

There was no immediate word on what started the fire.
