2 NH Teen Girls Recovering After Being Shot by BB Gun in Manchester

Witnesses said the shots came from a passing car

Two teenage girls are recovering after police say they were shot by a BB gun in Manchester, New Hampshire.

Police said the 13 and 14-year-old victims were walking home from Hillside Middle School at about 2:45 p.m. Thursday in the area of Ashland and Bridge streets when they were struck.

Authorities said one victim was struck in the face while the other victim was hit in the upper left thigh. Both were taken to an area hospital with minor injuries.

The 14-year-old, who did not want to be identified, told NBC10 Boston she's in shock after the incident.

"It just felt like someone threw a rock at my face," she said.

The girl was walking home with friends when she saw a gold car drive by -- police say it may have been a Toyota -- then felt an immediate pain in her face.

"I just feel normal, with a BB in my face," she said.

The projectile is still lodged in her cheek.

The firl's mother says it hurts to see her daughter like this, but that it could have been worse.

"Luckily, it was a BB Gun," she said. "If it wasn't, she wouldn't be here. It is literally lodged in her face."

Anyone with information on the shooting is urged to contact Manchester Police at 603-668-8711.
