A man died from his injuries in a van crash that seriously injured three others on Interstate 95 near the Hampton Toll Plaza in New Hampshire, according to police.
Fifty-four-year-old Yong Zheng of Quincy, Massachusetts, died at Portsmouth Regional Hospital late Tuesday night, where he was taken by paramedics for his life-threatening injuries. Investigators say Zheng was sitting in the back of the van without a seatbelt when he was ejected through the front windshield in the crash.
Police were called to the crash just before 6 p.m. Tuesday, where a van driven by Ming Chen, 51, of Boston, swerved and crashed near the Hampton Toll Plaza.
Chen and a passenger, identified as 53-year-old Mingjian Chen of Boston, were taken to Exeter Hospital with serious injuries. The two rear passengers, identified as Zheng and 42-year-old Boston resident Zhangfang Wang, were taken to Portsmouth Regional Hospital.
Mingjian Chen was later taken to a Boston-area hospital, where he was in serious but stable condition. Wang's current condition at Portsmouth Regional Hospital is stable.
Police say based on their initial investigation, it appears the van either changed lanes and lost control or was trying to make it into the cash lanes from the open road tolling lanes at the toll plaza.
The investigation indicates no one was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Authorities said impairment does not appear to be a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
