“Skip Church, I'm Too Old for Fairy Tales”: Atheist Billboard in Milwaukee Draws Ire

The ad was paid for by atheist group Southeast Wisconsin Free Thinkers.

A billboard standing alongside a Wisconsin highway has gotten motorists talking.

On the billboard by I-94 in Milwaukee, a young girl making a Christmas wish list writes: “Skip church, I'm too old for fairy tales."

The ad was paid for by atheist group Southeast Wisconsin Free Thinkers.

"Parents who see the billboard are going to be prompted to discuss this with their children," said Rob Moore, a spokesperson for the group. “We’re against the indoctrination of children and the encouragement of church in government.”

Some see the billboard as an aggressive statement against faith.

"It's just an attack on religion in general," Pastor John Schlegel, Chaplain at Marquette University, said.

The ad was purchased for more than $1,000 and appears in six cities across the United States, Examiner reported.
