Nazi Investigators Identify Eight Suspects from Stutthof Death Camp

Local prosecutors will assess if there is enough evidence against the eight suspects to bring charges

Eight suspected Nazi war criminals who worked at a concentration camp in Gdansk, Poland, have been identified, according to German police, NBC News reported.

Police told NBC News they identified four men and four women, all in their 80s or 90s, who worked at the former Stutthof concentration camp. The male suspects worked as guards while the women were employed as typists or phone operators.

Local prosecutors will assess if there is enough evidence against the eight suspects to bring charges. Thousands of people were killed by Nazis in gas chambers and with neck shots at the camp between June and August 1944.

Investigators are investigating former concentrations camps Auschwitz and Majdanek and recently expanded their search for former Nazi concentration camps Bergen-Belsen and Neuengamme.
