Woman Hit by Foul Ball at Fenway Saturday Night

The incident appeared to take place in the third inning, when the Dodgers' Chris Taylor sent a ball into the stands on the first-base line

A woman was hit by a foul ball at Fenway Park during the Red Sox's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers Saturday, a Red Sox official confirmed Sunday.

The woman was given medical attention immediately after being hit and is doing fine, the official said.

The incident appeared to take place in the third inning, when the Dodgers' Chris Taylor sent a ball into the stands on the first-base line that the announcer said "just cleared the netting."

While the broadcast didn't show what happened, Taylor could be seen looking toward the stand as he paused his at-bat.

There have been several foul ball injuries in baseball this season. In May, a Chicago Cubs player hit a foul ball that struck a girl, leaving the player distraught and others on both teams shaken up.

In June, Dodgers first baseman Cody Bellinger struck a fan just beyond the protective netting in Los Angeles with a foul ball that hit her in the head.

Last August, an elderly woman died after being hit in the head by a ball at Dodger Stadium.
