Afghan Deadlock Vote Pushing Country to Chaos

As Afghanistan’s two presidential candidates continue their dead-lock, the lives of ordinary Afghans are suffering, NBC News reported. "Afghanistan is on the brink of descending back into chaos and civil war,” Afghan lawmaker Nisar Haress told NBC News. “The situation is getting worse every passing day." The indefinite end to Afghanistan's vote in April is also concerning for the United States and NATO considering the planned withdrawal of combat troops by the end of the year. The U.S. also saw the vote as a sign of of Afghanistan’s ability to function independently and also as a measure of the impact a decade of Western intervention had on the country.
