Another few days without snow in Boston.
If you look at the Megalopolis region, Boston has seen the least amount of snow. New York City (Central Park) is at the top spot of 6.4”, followed by Providence at 6.3” (that fell in November) and Philadelphia rounds out the top three at 3.9”.
Washington, DC is poised to replace New York City at the top of the list, however, as a snow storm arrives to the Nation's Capital Sunday.
There are still no major storms in our future here in New England.
Ocean effect snow is possible late Sunday into Monday for the south shore, Cape and Islands. Up to 1” of accumulation is possible. Aside from some ocean effect flakes, high pressure will keep our weather quiet through at least Thursday.
Temperatures will be moderate throughout the week. Sunday will be cold, with temperatures staying in the 10s and 20s, but Monday we will see a bump into the 20s and 30s and midweek highs could top 40°.
It does appear that a prolonged stretch of winter weather will move in by the end of the week or next weekend. We are not biting on it just yet, but this pattern change is looking more and more favorable.

By next weekend, it’s possible that much of New England could be cold and snowy. It’s still too early to tell if we are going to see any significant storm systems, but we will be watching out for the potential of coastal flooding. This pattern shift will coincide with a few astronomically high tides. Stay tuned!
