Amtrak Train Slams Into Pickup Truck on New Hampshire Tracks

Driver of pickup truck suffered minor injuries

Police in New Hampshire are investigating a crash involving a pickup truck and an Amtrak train Sunday night in Charlestown.

Authorities said the truck had gone over a guardrail and had somehow landed on the railroad tracks.

The driver, who was not identified, was safely removed from the truck. He suffered minor injuries and was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

Police said none of the 72 passengers on board the Amtrak train were hurt. They were removed from the train and transported by bus to the Bellows Falls Amtrak Station.

The crash, which caused significant debris to scatter, remains under investigation.
