Already? Parts of New England Could See Snowflakes This Week

We are about ready to experience all four seasons in less than 24 hours. High temperatures reached the 70s and 80s Wednesday in southern New England, but in northern New England temperatures started to drop into the 40s.

Areas of rain will continue through the first part of the overnight. A frost is likely in northern New England.

There will be a 12 hour break between rounds of rain. In fact, much of Thursday will be dry. Clouds will increase throughout the day. Rain will develop from west to east Thursday evening. Expect a steady rain Thursday night.

The airmass will be cool with high temperatures only in the 50s. For Boston, this will be the first time temperatures have stayed in the 50s since late May.

Some of the higher peaks may see some snow flakes mix in Friday morning as the storm system pulls away. Friday afternoon will turn sunny, but it will stay cool.

Most of the weekend looks beautiful. It won't be sunny, but the sun will be shining.

Saturday will be cool as temperatures hold in the 50s, but warmer air returns Sunday. Sixties will make a return for much of next week as showers hang around.
