Police Investigating Alleged Armed Robbery in Beverly

The victim, a juvenile, was allegedly hit in the head with a gun

Four suspects have been charged in connection to an alleged armed robbery in Beverly, Massachusetts on Sunday.

Beverly police said the victim — a male juvenile — was driven to an area near Apple Village apartments by his girlfriend, where three males allegedly pulled him from the vehicle, repeatedly punched him and took his backpack.

The suspects allegedly took the victim's backpack and when he attempted to get back, one of the suspects brandished what the victim believed to be a firearm at him before hitting him alongside the head with the weapon, police said.

Police responded to the area near 806 Manor Road at 6:35 p.m. Sunday after receiving a call from the victim.

Luis Angel Braude, 30; Jovan Cortes Amaral, 18; a juvenile male and a juvenile female were charged with assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon. Braude, Amaral and the male juvenile were charged with armed robbery.

The three male suspects, as well as the female suspect who had driven the victim to the area, fled the scene and went inside 806 Manor Road, where they were located and arrested.

The victim was transported to Beverly Hospital for treatment.

The investigation remains active.
