Australian troops will be deployed to Iraq to "advise and assist" the Iraqi army in their battle against ISIS militants, Prime Minister Tony Abbott said on Friday, Reuters reported. Australian aircraft will also join U.S.-led coalition strikes. Australia has been on high alert for attacks by radicalized Muslims or home-grown militants returning from the Mideast, and has undertaken a series of high-profile raids in major cities.
