Two men were hospitalized after a "family disturbance" at a Massachusetts home late Tuesday night led to a shooting and assault, according to authorities.
Investigators were still at the scene of the Revere incident at a home on Oxford Street early Wednesday morning, where police say officers have responded to before in the past.
Although details were not immediately released, it started as a disturbance between family members when "other parties arrived" at the home, according to Revere Police Chief James Guido.
"It led to one person with a gunshot wound and another person being assaulted," he said.
The shooting victim, identified only as a 32-year-old man, was shot in the leg when he managed to run from Oxford Street to Park Avenue and attempted to stop a vehicle in an effort to get help, according to police and the Suffolk district attorney's office.
A 52-year-old man was also injured during a physical confrontation, according to authorities.
Both victims, who were taken to Massachusetts General Hospital, are expected to survive.

NBC10 Boston noticed two nearby cars had shattered windows, and a neighbor described hearing four loud pops.
"Flashing lights. I come down, I pull the shade up. I go, 'Whoa.' Fire engines, police department, ambulance," the neighbor, who didn't want to be identified, said. "We thought it was a car accident."
Police say the victims appear to know one another but did not detail their relationship. It's unclear if any arrests have been made.
Authorities continued to process the scene overnight in the house and the surrounding area.
