Investigation Underway After Man Killed, Another Injured in Shooting Outside of Condo Complex

One man is dead and another is wounded following a shooting in Brockton, Massachusetts early Monday.

Police responded to multiple reports of gunshots outside the Madrid Square Condos on Oak Street shortly after midnight Monday and found the two men shot.

One of the men, identified by authorities as Jamari Leblanc, 31, of Brockton, died at the scene. The second victim, whom authorities have not identified, was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

No arrests have been made in connection with the shooting.

Neighbors tell NBC10 Boston they are shaken.

"I feel really upset, I just moved in," Edgar Marquese said. "It's a big worry -- my family all lives here, my sister, my kids."

Another resident said the shootings should not be a stain on the whole neighborhood."Ninety-nine percent of the people are great," said neighbor Noube Rateau. "It's the one percent [that do it]. Sometimes it happens, but you've just got to move on, pray to God, and continue to do what you do every day."

This is the second deadly shooting in Brockton this month. Investigators are still looking into the case. On Monday, NBC10 Boston witnessed them towing away a white SUV, which a neighbor said belongs to a man who lives in the condominiums. It is unclear whether police have answers yet as to a suspect or motive, but they have said it was not a random act.
