Beautiful Monday, Stormy Tuesday

Finally a break from the humidity behind the front that brought strong storms to New England on Saturday.

Dew points gradually decreased throughout the day allowing for a pleasant and comfortable Sunday under a mostly sunny sky. UV index was high, as highs rose into the mid-80s. It stayed warm but the mugginess is gone for now.

If you like this type of weather, take advantage of it while you can. This beautiful weather will stick around until Monday. A warm front will then lift from the south, increasing our rain chances starting Tuesday with the return of tropical downpours.

Our pattern next week will mimic what happened over the past several days, as we are expecting a chance for showers pretty much every day, though it won’t be a washout. The high humidity and warm temperatures will be the ingredients needed for on and off showers/storms to develop in the afternoon hours, mostly north and west of Boston.

The South Coast, Cape and Islands will be on the least rainy side of this system, so that’s wonderful news for those planning a vacation in the area. This unsettled pattern will last into the weekend. Temperatures will be in the 80s during the afternoon, and at night they won’t drop much. They will stay in the 70s, making it quite uncomfortable for those without air conditioning.
