Authorities in Massachusetts need the public's help identifying a small, terrier-type dog who was found in poor condition, wandering the streets of Beverly on Wednesday.

The Animal Rescue League of Boston said the 10-year-old male dog was found at the intersection of Charnock and Prospect streets.

The dog was severely matted, dirty, underweight, and malnourished. He also had extremely overgrown and curled nails which caused him pain to walk.

Authorities said the dog is neutered but not microchipped.

Anyone with information on the dog is urged to contact Beverly Animal Control at 978-605-2361 or ARL Law Enforcement at 617-426-9170.
