Boston Celtics Open New Auerbach Center Practice Facility

The Boston Celtics officially opened their new practice facility, the Auerbach Center, Tuesday in Boston.

The Celtics, along with New Balance Athletics, will use the 70,000 square foot center throughout the year as they make the push for their 18th World Championship next season.

The Auerbach Center, named after legendary Celtics coach and president Red Auerbach, is a state-of-the-art facility that boasts two full-sized parquet floors, a sports science lab,a medical examination room, exercise pools, and expanded locker rooms for the players and coaches.

Commuters will be able to see the facility as they travel on the Mass Turnpike as they pass the Boston Landing site, nicknamed "Red's House".

"Red Auerbach's legacy burns bright in Boston, and nowhere is that more evident than right at Red's House," said Boston Mayor Marty Walsh.
