The Boston Marathon announced a new corporate sponsor on Monday, marking a transition that hasn't happened in nearly 40 year's of the storied marathon's history.
Bank of America will be the new sponsor of the Boston Marathon, beginning in 2024, officials announced during a news conference Monday morning.
The announcement was held at the iconic building in the Financial District that serves as the New England headquarters of Bank of America.
Bank of America will take over starting with the 2024 race for John Hancock, the insurance company whose name has been synonymous with the race since 1986.
