Sources: Police Search Wooded Area in Connection to Mother's 2007 Disappearance

The NBC Boston Investigators have confirmed that a search in a wooded area in Boston's West Roxbury neighborhood is connected to the disappearance of a local mother a decade ago.

Authorities are searching the woods off Enneking Parkway Thursday. The Investigators have confirmed that they are investigating the disappearance of 32-year-old Felicia McGuyer, who has been missing since Oct. 7, 2007.

McGuyer was last seen in the area of Roxton Street in the city's Dorchester neighborhood. According to Boston Police in a 2013 press release requesting help in the investigation, it was not common behavior for McGuyer to be out of touch with her son, who was 10 at the time of the disappearance, or other family members or friends.

FBI agents and Massachusetts State Police are assisting Boston police with the search.

An FBI spokesperson confirmed that the agency is helping with the investigation, but declined to comment further.

No other information was immediately available.

The investigation is ongoing.
