A strong high-pressure system from Canada has pushed clouds and a few raindrops to the south of New England for bright beautiful October afternoon.
It's one of the coolest days we've had this season, with temperatures in the 50s to low 60s, and a brisk breeze from the northeast gusting past 20 miles per hour.
With a clear sky tonight, and the wind going light, along with very dry air, that means radiational cooling. Temperatures by dawn are going to be in the 20s and 30s north, 30s to 40s south, with spotty fog and frost to start tomorrow.
The high-pressure system will gradually move offshore tomorrow afternoon, that means lighter wind but it's from the southeast, so still, we are rather cool with temperatures in the 60s. Also, clouds are going to increase again with a chance of a few sprinkles developing tomorrow night. Temperatures not as cold to start Saturday, low in the 30s and 40s north, 40s and 50s south.
A warm front over southern New England may generate a few showers Saturday, but it's not a bad day with a mixture of sun and clouds, temperatures getting back to 70 degrees or higher.
A strong low-pressure system moves into Ontario Sunday that will cause any early cloudiness and fog to lift with for a windy and warm afternoon. With the amount of afternoon sunshine, we warm to through the 70s and may get close to 80 degrees by late in the day. Wind from the southwest may gust 30 to 40 miles per hour toward sunset.
Showers with a cold front crossing on Sunday night should be offshore by Monday. Another high-pressure system will bring more sunshine and seasonable weather to start next week.
