Dive Teams Respond After Car Found in Merrimack River

Police in Haverhill, Massachusetts are investigating after a car was found submerged in the Merrimack River Saturday morning. 

Haverhill police responded to a rest area on River Street sround 10a.m. Police say no one was in the vehicle at the time. 

Police said all occupants of the car have been accounted for and the owner was found at home. The owner had minor injuries and was sent to a nearby hospital for treatment. Authorities have not released the name of the car's owner or anyone else who may have been in the car. 

State Police air and dive teams had been called to the scene as a precaution, according to Haverhill police. 

Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the incident.
