New England

Cooler Today But Hotter Temps Moving This Way

What to Know

  • Low humidity will start the weekend as cooler temperatures remain throughout Saturday.
  • Temperatures rise into the 80s on Sunday and into the 90s on Labor Day.
  • Most of New England will remain rain free through the holiday.

High pressure from Canada brought in a nice batch of cooler and less humid to New England yesterday.

Now we have low humidity to start the weekend, with a warming trend returning inland today. What a great day for golf (and watching golf) at TPC Boston in Norton Massachusetts.

A few clouds are mixed in, but most of us have plenty of sunshine with highs gradually rising from the 70s today to 80s tomorrow to nearly 90 degrees on Labor Day Monday. Most of New England will stay rain-free through the holiday weekend, though a few showers are possible in Vermont Saturday morning with a passing disturbance, and southern and southwestern Connecticut see an increasing chance of showers tomorrow, as warmer and more humid air makes its move back into the region. A low chance of thunderstorms re-enters the forecast Labor Day Monday and continues during the afternoons next week – particularly Tuesday and Thursday – as summer warmth continues until breaking down next weekend, at the end of our exclusive Early Warning Weather 10-day forecast.
