EF1 Tornado Touched Down in Maine, NWS Says

An EF1 tornado touched down briefly in eastern Maine earlier this week, not far from Topsfield, the National Weather Service said Thursday. 

The tornado hit Kossuth Township in Washington County between Baskahgan Stream and Route 6 Monday around 5:40 p.m., bringing winds of up to 90 mph.

No injuries were reported. 

The NWS said the twister caused sporadic damage, uprooting or snapping some 120 trees.
