An 81-year-old fisherman from Connecticut has been identified as the victim in a fatal boat crash off Westerly.
The Westerly Sun reports that friends identified the victim of Tuesday morning's crash off Watch Hill as Walter Krupinski, of Stonington.
Krupinski was a commercial rod-and-reel fisherman and had gone out to fish on his 25-foot vessel, the Peggy K, Tuesday morning.
The U.S. Coast Guard says a 60-foot yacht apparently ran over the Peggy K in rough seas around 10 a.m.

Krupinski's vessel capsized.
The name of the pilot of the yacht has not yet been released.
Westerly police and the state Department of Environmental Management are investigating.
