C Branch of Green Line Closed This Weekend for Improvements

A shuttle bus service will replace stops from St. Mary's Street to Cleveland Circle

The C branch of the Green Line will be closed all day Saturday and Sunday as part of ongoing infrastructure improvements, according to the MBTA.

Construction work will shut down the branch from St. Mary's Street to Cleveland Circle. Service will be replaced by shuttle buses, the MBTA said.

This work is part of the MBTA's five-year capital investment program, which includes intersection updates on the Green Line.

“We understand that service diversions can be inconvenient, but these outages allow us to offer improved service faster by expanding the window of unencumbered time for this work to get accomplished,” MBTA General Manager Steve Poftak said.

All MBTA services will resume at the start of service on Monday, September 9. The C branch is scheduled for similar weekend closures on September 28 and 29.
