NH State Police: Driver Charged With DWI After Going Double the Speed Limit

New Hampshire State Police say 20-year-old Kelly Murphy was going 117 mph in a 55 mph zone

New Hampshire State Police arrested a driver Sunday who was allegedly going more than double the speed limit while impaired by alcohol.

Kelly Murphy, 20, of Derry, was pulled over after a state trooper obtained a radar reading of 117 mph in a posted 55 mph zone. It was determined that Murphy was driving while impaired, so Murphy was arrested and charged with aggravated driving under the influence, underage DWI, reckless operation, and unlawful possession of alcohol.

Murphy's passenger, Marissa Palazzo, 19, of Derry, was also arrested and charged with resisting arrest and unlawful possession of alcohol.

Both Murphy and Palazzo have been released as they await arraignment in the 6th Circuit Concord Court.
