Woman to Face Judge in Fatal Drunk Driving Crash in Shirley

A Massachusetts woman was expected to face a judge Friday in connection with a fatal crash on Thursday night in Shirley.

Victoria Marble, 39, of Ashby, was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, reckless operation of a motor vehicle and a marked lanes violation.

Following an investigation, police determined that Marble was driving drunk when she crashed a Buick Rendezvous into a Toyota Land Cruiser at 11:08 p.m. at the intersection of Great and Longley roads.

Authorities said the victim in the Land Cruiser was taken to an area hospital where she was later pronounced dead. Police have not yet released her name.

Marble was placed under arrest before being taken to the hospital for treatment.

It's unclear if she will have legal representation at her arraignment in Ayer District Court.
