1 Person Dead After 2 Pedestrians Struck in Seekonk

Two pedestrians were struck by a car around 12:35 a.m. on Oakhill Avenue

One pedestrian has died after two people were struck by a car early Sunday morning.

Seekonk police say they received a 911 call around 12:35 a.m. for a report of two pedestrians struck on Oakhill Ave., in the area of Central Ave.

Both pedestrians were given medical attention on scene. One person was transported to Rhode Island Hospital and later pronounced dead.

The other person refused to be transported from the scene but sought medical attention on his own, police say. There was no update on his injuries.

The driver who struck the pedestrians is cooperating with investigators. It’s unclear if any charges will be filed in this incident.

The names of everyone involved are being withheld at this time.

State and local police, as well as the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office, are investigating.
