No Bail for Father Accused of Kidnapping, Assault

The boy has since been reunited with his mother

The man accused of kidnapping his 3-year-old son and assaulting the child’s mother faced a judge Thursday.

Rosba Taylor was taken into police custody just before noon on Wednesday after allegedly taking his son from the mother’s home after hitting her in the face.

Police found the child, Kyrie Taylor, unharmed along with the father in a busy parking lot in Lynn, Massachusetts. Police say Taylor used to live in Lynn so they were expecting him.

The boy has since been reunited with his mother.

A Massachusetts man has been arrested in Lynn after kidnapping his 3-year-old son and assaulting the child's mother in Plymouth Wednesday morning, authorities confirmed.

Taylor was ordered to be held without bail during his arraignment on parental kidnapping and domestic assault and battery charges Thursday.

State police said the suspect had been estranged from his child and his child's mother and didn't have permission to have Kyrie when he entered a home on Algonquin Terrace in Plymouth.

Taylor was released from the Suffolk Co House of Corrections in April where has was detained for robbery at knifepoint, according to Boston police.

"It's not him to do anything like that," said Ernie Panias, who claims to be Rosba Taylor's grandfather. "Something drastically had to happen for him to do something like that."

Prosecutors said Taylor walked into the home of his child's mother and punched her in the face once in the bedroom and another time as she tried to stop him from leaving with her children.

However, Taylor's attorney said he had arranged to pick up his kids and take them clothes shopping, and claimed there is video showing Taylor leave with his 3-year-old child, but no physical altercation.

Taylor is due back in court in July.
